Battlefield 6 Has a DAILY XP CAP Even During Double XP Weekend! Are You Kidding Me EA!
So apparently there’s a daily XP limit in Battlefield 6 1.5 MILLION XP per day, and once you hit that, you literally earn nothing.
And here’s the kicker: even during Double XP weekends, you can hit that cap in just 4–5 hours of playing.
Yeah. In a $70 “AAA” game not a mobile free2play title you’re being told how much fun you’re allowed to have per day.
This isn’t a free live service grindfest. This is a full price shooter with a F2P gacha like system glued on top.
EA somehow managed to make progression time gated in a premium game, and almost nobody’s talking about it.
You buy the game, pay for cosmetics, battle pass, AND now you’re limited on how much XP you can earn daily? Unreal.It’s disgusting and antiplayer to the core.
Players deserve to know this before buying.

Right? I was kinda pissed at first reading the title but I've been playing fairly regularly since launch with some breaks and I'm lvl 60 900+k XP. If this dude is getting 1.5 mil in 4-5 hours even with 2Xxp that's grass touching. Should not be a cap at all but 1.5 mil is not that bad.
People are saying BR duos gives 100k a win without x2 exp. Roughly 20 mins a game at 200k a win you could in theory hit cap in as little as 8 games or 2 and a half hours give or take.
Now I highly doubt anyone is winning 8 games back to back but finishing in final circle every game is probably going to hit cap at 4.5 hours.
Yeah that'd be a regular XP gain of 187,500 xp per hour, which is absurd. In like maybe a one off really goated game that goes to 20+ minutes you can get like 60k xp once all the bonuses are factored in, but the vast majority of games will sit between 20-40k xp at best.
Without double XP getting first place in red sec nets about 110k XP. Yes I know it’s redsec but it technically is doable with double xp to get 1.5 million xp in 4 hrs. The games I’ve won were about 30 min in length so let’s say 100k xp without double xp bonus. With double xp winning 2 wins an hour you get 400k xp so in 4 hours you’d get 1.6 million xp.
1 Game of Conquest gives me 30k XP. Thats 50 Games i have to play, 20 minutes a Game = 16.6h to reach the 1.5mil. i might be wrong but it doesn't seem right what you are saying.
If you get three times as many kills and three times as many objective points, the half XP might not matter. Which could be easy if the tanks are easier to get because there's fewer players. I don't know what's typical.
Idk about normal exp since it doesn’t really matter after level 50, but from my extremely scientific testing I’ve noticed the weapon exp is like 1/10th or 1/20th per bot kill compared to a human
Yesterday i was consistently getting 80-100k per game in conquest, couple of hours on a weekend day is really not unthinkable. Im 100 perecent of the opinion there should not be a cap at all
And how is that relevant? Imagine they lure you in with a quadruple XP weekend and you hit the wall after 2hrs or 4hrs. Yeah, it doesn't affect you but why the fuck is there a cap in the first place?
Yea I only been playing this double xp event for about 4 hours and I just hit the cap. Only earning 360 xp a match no matter if I drop 50 kills or not. It’s also affecting weapon leveling too. Maxed at 360 xp. What a joke
Again the balancing between the two styles of game just isnt really there. First day of redsec i dropped in and realized “oh so this is why all the sidearms feel mediocre, they cant be too strong for BR initial fights”

Weapons do less damage in deadsec, almost every single gun is nerfed in deadsec damage wise except the GRT, AK4D, TAR-8, and I forgot the lost I think NVO?? But yeah every single
Is weaker in deadsec. For example the M250 is 25 dmg at like 100-150m I think in normal BF, in deadsec it’s 20. I don’t think this is anywhere in the patch notes either. There’s a spreadsheet and video on it on YouTube. If you knew this already then my bad I’m just ranting haha.
I checked the game's leaderboards a couple of weeks after release and the person with the most hours played, had averaged 19.5 hours per day, every single day since release.
I was about to say this. Streamers - big ones - play for long hours each day.
Now, sure, StReAmErS, but for better or worse, they have big audiences and play a lot. When this becomes widespread knowledge you can 100% expect content creators doing videos on this ad-nauseam, and that's bad PR for BF6.

That's true. I was mostly going by the 4-5 hour number someone else in the replies gave. Outside of the mythical "24 hour stream, guys!" scenario, most big streamers can easily go between 6 and 9 hours/day.
While I see their point, I think if you're hitting enough daily playtime for this to be an issue that it might be time to reconsider some things about your life.
Man I have hit nearly 150h on it, I took 3 days off at launch and been sick 1 week so I could stay at home and play. I spend way too much free time during the weekends playing as well. I have never hit that cap...
They probably farmed bots in the portal before the xp change, not to say they haven't played an ungodly amount of time in addition to that. I also don't see why anyone would care to level up past 50 (or 100 if you care about cosmetics ig).
For real this doesn’t affect him at all. Putting a cap on is scummy because it pushes more for people to have to come back the following day and do their dailies every day like a good little slave. It reminds me of energy tokens regenerating in mobile games.

It gets rid of people creating afk lobbies. While putting a pretty high cap to maintain a competitive balance between people who have seen grass and people who haven’t.

Owning paid BF6 gives +5%, owning BF Pro gives +10%, playing in a lobby with friends gives +5% per friend(?) and then there's the XP boosts, which, according to the description, can stack.
So you probably could stack all that to reach the cap in <3hrs, which I imagine is a time plenty of people would play on a weekend with friends.
(And makes it even more ridiculous to have a cap in the first place, if those who pay the most would reach it first)
I remember when I was single and working nights I’d sometimes play BF2 for 8, 10, or even 12 hours because there wasn’t shit else to do, and no one else was awake. If XP cap was a thing, I’d have been pissed.
So this doesn’t apply to you, I won’t hit an exp cap either because I can only put myself thru 2hrs max. But I agree with OP, a game that I pay $70 for I should be allowed to grind until my mouse/controller falls apart if I want to.
Yeah I don’t understand the “go outside” argument, I would never play this game enough in one go to hit the XP cap, but I can still understand that the cap being there is dumb

Conquest is still fun, but everyone else got rewarded for that game. Why shouldn’t this brochacho? That’s not the good kind of special treatment.
XP cap in a game where earning xp is literally how you unlock new items and equipment is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, especially when it's a double xp event. Imo not a good way to inspire the games longevity. Nobody wants to grind 2-3× as hard for the same rewards because the game arbitrarily decided youve earned enough for the day..
The BR mode while doing missions with a good squad definitely adds up to a crazy amount of XP quickly. Add XP multipliers on top of that and you can earn like 100K per match
I could get 100k per win in BR in a duo with max missions completed. With dxp that'd be 200k, and im not sure if boosts stack additively or not, but it might be more. The most ive gotten without boosts was 104k, average about 90-95k for wins.
Same instead I workout, do chores, visit family, cook meals, WORK. I won’t ever have time for 5 hrs a day on a video game even without a girlfriend wife or social life.

I don't care if I will ever be effected by it, but there is not a single valid argument for why there should be an XP cap in the first place. If someone wants to play for 24 hours he should be able to do that without restrictions whatsoever, period.

Everyone is bashing the OP but no one is answering the real question. Why are they caping EXP? I bought the game but they block unlocks through EXP, which is now cappe thus limiting your unlock progession. Seems like a way to try and get people to just pay for the skins instead of just playing to much battlefield like OP.
A lot of comments have gone to blaming people that play too much rather than the corporation trying to throttle player XP so that they end up spending more on boosters.

So on the weekend day, you dont spend 4-5 hours between being on your phone, watching TV, or other non task related things just to take up time? Whether its an hour here or there or 4 up front, the engagement is there, just in a different place.
It's 2025 and people are still shaming gamers for doing a hobby they enjoy. The irony is that this is happening on Reddit which is a way bigger waste of time and energy than video games are.

4-5 hours? I'm getting 40k xp for a top 4 placement usually. Doubled is 80k. So 18.75 games, assuming a 25 minute conquest round, that's 8 hours. If the game is shorter you won't get as much xp.
It's still stupid but this really only affects a few players since most people are not playing 8 hours, even on weekends.

Yeah I have worked 12 hour night shifts the last 11 nights, when I finally get off in the morning I have 3 days off. I use my limited free time during working days to complete all my responsibilities so that when I get off in the morning I can have a nap and then game for 12 hours straight. Some of us don’t have the luxury of being able to log on for an hour or two everyday.
I work first shift been putting in OT get home around 7pm by 9 pm a few times I've hit the cap. The judgement in this sub is wild. Who the fuck are any of us to dictate or put down how other life? Seriously you're telling others to go outside and get a life without knowing shit about their situation. There shouldn't be a cap, period.
While I agree with everyone else it is a lot of XP he earned very fast. It still doesn’t change the fact that there absolutely should not be a cap on the amount of XP you can get. I’m not surprised EA is finding more ways to fuck over players.
Am I crazy or are you guys being cringe with the 4 hours being a long time to play? Me and my friends are all in relationships and we can easily sit down, hop on voice chat and enjoy a game for like 8-10 hours while talking about random stuff and just chilling. You guys make it sound like 4 hours a day is a crime and a shit bucket situation lol. Our sessions don't happen as often as when we didnt have jobs to worry about but cmon.

I understand any cap is bullshit, but, my guy, you’re not reaching 1.5 million xp in 5 hours while having fun. I don’t know what you’re referring to but I know for a fact it requires some kind of boosting strategy. This feels like a non-issue.
I work more than full time (shift work) and work either 4 on 4 off or 5 on 5 off. Its entirely possible to play for 4 hours on those 5 days off, even with responsibilities.
Working 12s is the absolute best. As far as I'm concerned when I work the day is shot anyway so might as well cram all those work hours into fewer days.

I've earned 80-100k in matches without double XP. Imagine playing 8-10 matches in a day and hitting a cap... When companies continue to do things like this, it is exactly why players find XP exploits that sometimes can clog or flat out ruin a game.
I likely wouldn't even play that many matches in a day, but just because I believe it won't affect me personally, it doesn't mean we shouldn't be fighting back against these things.
Doesn’t matter if it’s generally mentally unhealthy to hit the cap. Some groups of friends arrange gaming days together, there they play games the entire day. A cap ruins the grinding experience for these people.
Cap shouldn’t exist. Period. It’s not up to EA to police people’s lives and how much XP they earned.
Not to mention, this isn’t the reason there’s a cap… it’s quite clearly to bad player retention numbers. The cap forces players to come back to the game, more. Instead of competing a weapon in one day, it may take two. This artificially boosts player retention stats that executives show shareholders.
Don’t for one minute think this is even remotely in the best interests of the common gamer…
I don’t own BF6, but are you saying that people can pay for xp boosts, hit the daily xp cap, and the boost continues to get used up/wasted? Or does it at least pause the timer once you’ve hit a limit?
You cannot really pay for XP boosts AFAIK. There are some packs that do come with them like the Phantom edition, but you cannot just buy an XP boost. They’re Battle Pass rewards, Twitch drops, etc. usually.
This is the start of enshitification of BF and all games. Yes 1.5 mil xp/day cap a day is on the high end of 1-5% of players who actually reach that daily. But this is just the start. EA/DICE is testing the waters. Its proven by how the grind for BF6 unlocks is the longest in any BF series game. (I wonder why they did arbitrary xp level unlocks instead of simple, straightforward kill counts like BF3/4?) The fact that they put a limit at all already says so much about the direction they're trying to go.
They want us to be daily slaves to Battlepass and daily xp caps (aka Mobile Game cesspools).

An XP cap in a game is always bad. I don't play more than 4-5h a day either but if I someday wanted to XP grind for 11h straight for somw reason, it is my right to do so. Placing an XP cap to slow down progression is absolutely not okay, doesn't matter if it affects you personally or not
